Brief

01

Volta Capital, a Swiss-Belgian wealth management firm, was losing market share to neo-banks and AI advisors. Their identity was tired, their website lost prospects in 8 seconds, and their proposition felt indistinguishable from many competitors.

Challenge

02

Rebrand a 30-year-old firm without alienating its existing clientele (avg age 58). Win the next generation (35-50) currently choosing neo-banks. Translate financial sophistication into clear, premium language.

Our approach

03

A new positioning : 'Wealth, decoded.' A typography-first identity (custom serif by Klim). A website that explains complex products in 90 seconds. A trust system : real advisor faces, real performance data, no stock photos.

Outcome

04

Significant growth in new AUM in 8 months — well above the previous year. Inbound demo requests grew strongly. Average client onboarding age dropped meaningfully. Time-on-site increased substantially.

Our perspective

What this project teaches us about the craft.

Wealth management has a generation problem

The average client of a private bank in continental Europe is in their late fifties. The next generation — the heirs, the founders, the entrepreneurs in their forties — is choosing neo-banks, AI advisors and family-office structures. If the bank doesn't earn this segment in the next decade, the business model erodes quietly until it's structurally broken. Volta's rebrand started from that uncomfortable diagnosis.

Trust is the only commodity worth designing

In financial services, brand design is trust design. Everything from the typography to the copywriting to the loading animations sends signals about whether you can be trusted with significant capital. We spent more time choosing a serif typeface for Volta than most agencies spend on an entire identity — because the typeface is the first thing a prospective client reads before they ever talk to an advisor. Trust isn't built in conversations. It's built in micro-decisions, decades before the conversation happens.
