Brief

01

Édora's founder, a third-generation perfumer from Grasse, was reviving a family archive of 18 forgotten formulas. The brand had no name, no story, no identity — only the conviction that French perfumery deserved a contemporary chapter.

Challenge

02

Build a luxury maison from scratch — name, voice, identity, packaging, retail concept and launch campaign — that could earn shelf space at Bergdorf and Le Bon Marché within 18 months.

Our approach

03

Six weeks of immersion in Grasse, 14 expert interviews, a cultural audit across 4 markets. We crafted the maison name 'Édora' (from 'Éden' + 'aura'), an editorial brand voice, a sculptural bottle system in Murano glass, and a fragmented launch across press, retail, social and an immersive Paris pop-up.

Outcome

04

Édora launched in March 2025 with 6 fragrances across Paris, London, New York and Tokyo. Within 9 months: stocked at premium retailers in 3 markets; positive press coverage in major trade and lifestyle media. Strong brand recognition built from scratch in under a year.

How we did it

Five phases. One project.

    Define

Brand positioning, naming, voice, archetype. 'Édora' chosen from 80+ candidates. Story platform : contemporary heritage.

  3. 03

    Design

Visual identity, custom typography, sculptural Murano bottle system, packaging, retail concept, website, editorial content.

  4. 04

    Deploy

  5. 05

    Scale

Quarterly content drops, seasonal limited editions, retail expansion to 12 doors, social engine 220K followers in 9 months.

Our perspective

What this project teaches us about the craft.

Building a new house in a saturated luxury market

The luxury fragrance category is one of the most defended on earth. Heritage brands dominate department store shelves, and challenger niches like Le Labo or Diptyque have already redefined the editorial perfumery space. Building a credible new maison in this environment requires more than a beautiful bottle. It requires positioning that resists comparison, a story that earns shelf space, and an identity system that survives every brand contact — from a 3-second Instagram square to a Bergdorf window installation.

Why heritage isn't enough anymore

We spent six weeks in Grasse before drawing a single visual. The brief from the founder was simple : honor four generations of family perfumery, but escape the dusty heritage clichés that have killed dozens of niche launches. The strategic answer was to treat heritage as a creative engine, not a marketing argument. Every olfactory choice references an archive — but the language, photography and packaging belong to 2026. That tension is what makes the brand instantly distinctive in a fragrance counter.

What scaling a luxury brand actually means

A luxury brand doesn't scale by spending more on paid social. It scales by earning distribution one door at a time, by producing editorial content that buyers can't ignore, and by building a community of insiders who feel like the brand was made for them. Édora's first 12 months were engineered around three doors per quarter, two editorial collaborations per season, and a private list of 800 founding clients receiving handwritten cards. None of that shows up in a media plan. All of it shows up in the P&L.
